New post-doc opportunity - Offshore ocean dynamics

Applications accepted until 15 May, 2024, start date flexible

Applications are invited for two postdoctoral fellowships (PDF) with the Canadian-Pacific Robotic Ocean Observing Facility (C-PROOF).

The first two-year PDF is focused on conducting glider-centred process studies of continental shelf dynamics and observational studies of coastal ocean dynamics off the coast of British Columbia, Canada. This position will be in partnership with the Hakai Institute and the Pacific Rim Ocean Data Mobilization and Technology (PRODIGY) training program. As part of PRODIGY, you would contribute to research, teaching, mentoring, and partner engagement initiatives, providing advanced graduate and postgraduate training in ocean observation, prediction, and knowledge mobilization.

The second two-year PDF is focused on observational studies of coastal ocean dynamics and their ecological consequences in a physically and ecologically significant shelf sea off the coast of British Columbia, Canada. This position will be in partnership with the Hakai Institute. We seek physical oceanographers with interests in coastal ocean dynamics and the interaction between ocean dynamics and chemical and biological processes who are eager to employ a variety of observational tools in their research. Review of applications will begin immediately, and the positions will remain open until October 15, 2023. For information on how to apply, see:
